Which Armor of God Item in Ephesians 6 do you Choose?
The journey began with the puzzle of the 6 words you found in the 6 Bible verses provided to you. The 6 words are identical to 6 words in the book of Ephesians chapter 6:14-17
What is the Significance of These 6 Words?
What is the Bible passage in Ephesians 6:14-17 about?
It is about the armor of God:
- Belt of truth
- Breastplate of righteousness
- Shoes of the Gospel of peace
- Shield of faith
- Helmet of salvation
- Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God
It is common knowledge to all: to champions, to heroes and heroines, to all people, that preparation is required when you go on a quest or a journey.
Satisfied with the successful completion of your first puzzle….this is going to be easy…you turn your attention to the corner that caught your eye earlier.
Shop in The Corner
Wow, it’s a shop selling tools, equipment, and weapons.
“Can I help you,” a deep voice growled. A muscled giant was barring your path.
“I, I, what a display! Are you the owner of this shop?”
“Shop! This is no ordinary place. I’m Samson the Tools Master or as some call me the Weapons Master. Here you’ll find all the Bible study tools you need and much more. I sell equipment. I also provide information and do research on items you bring me from your quests. What can I help you with?”
Clamping your gaping mouth shut, your eyes continue to wander over the vast display of every tool and weapon imaginable. There are familiar products…but the exotic items on display…
Bible Study Tools
“I need to prepare for a Bible study quest. Do you have any suggestions?”
“These are the basic essential tools you need.” Pointing with his left hand to a display cabinet, Samson steered you toward it.
“Here are different kits containing the essential tools. Have a look,” he said removing a few kits for your inspection.
Pointing to a kit, you ask, “How much is that kit?” Reaching into your pocket for your wallet, you realized you had no money.
Smiling Samson’s eyes followed your empty hand. “Take a closer look at the price tags. You’ll notice these Bible study toolkits are not priced in monetary amounts but in favor.”
“What do you mean favor,” you stammered.
Quoting Psalm 23:8, Samson smiled. “As a beginner, you don’t have much favor, yet.”
Goodness and mercy shall follow me all of my days. (Psalm 23:8)
Pointing to another cabinet with single items of the armor, Samson continued, “You have enough favor to purchase one armor item . I recommend you choose one item now and acquire the rest as soon as possible.”
Which piece do you choose? What is your reason for choosing that item?
- The belt that is truth
- The breastplate consisting of righteousness
- The faith shield
- Gospel of peace shoes
- Helmet of salvation protecting your mind or
- The Word of God, the Sword
